Any vacuum tube is a particle accelerator. This is why tubes are so
much more fun and interesting: high energy physics. This is what
most hams running modern computer rigs can't figure out. What's more
exciting, a 250TH or a surface mount chip? "Yeah but I have digital
signal processing." it goes right by them.
