[AMRadio] 2 meter band

Given the decline in ham radio activity, I wouldn't be surprised if
more gets taken away beginning with everything above 10 meters. I
think the 2 meter grab is currently in some kind of committee in
Europe, meeting in Prague, and the issue has not made it to DefCon Red
yet, HOWEVER, everyone ignored or was blindsided by some little known
ZL group called No Code International, and they came out of nowhere
and suddenly persuaded the abolishment of CW testing at the ITU level,
and boom, no more code test. It could happen again with other agendas
like frequency grabs.  I think France wants the 2 Mc from 144 to 146;
Germany is against it. Hams need to be more active about fighting
this kind of thing. If everyone just thinks, "I don't operate there
so I don't care" then we'll lose it all. Heck, Don K4KYV tried to
gin up comments to FCC about getting primary ham status for 1900 to
2000 kc, and even 160 m. DX and Contest ops didn't do anything because
it wasn't the part of the band they use. That's just plain myopic and
stupid.
