I'm new here, and curious to all things AM.
This is for all the BCT folks here. Yep. For all of you who have one of
those
gorgeous old boxes occupying a treasured space in your shack- it might be
Gates, RCA, Collins or GE, to mention a few- Gates is a favorite of mine but
that's just me. They make 160 meters a pleasure, as well as other bands-
75/80
to think of one in particular. In their working life some used crystals,
and when
modded to amateur bands the rockbound tradition continued. There are some
operators who went with digital VFOs like Hagerty Radio's product or
N3ZI's.
Before going into building a digital VFO I'd really like to hear other's
experiences
with using them- what broadcast transmitter do you use it with, what bands,
and
your experience of building it and operating with it. Please- broadcast
transmitters
like RCA, Gates, etc. only- I am contemplating adding the means to use a
digital VFO
built from kit form like the ones mentioned above. If you have another,
currently produced
digital VFO from another builder, that's good too- chime in!
Thanks kindly in advance, and 73 de KE5LIB!
Mark
