> Do most folks on this list stick together using AM or CW vintage, or milsurp and working their own groups or seek like minded folks?
I call CQ on phone and CW and work new people. I also work the same
people on phone over and over. When I call CQ I can wind up working
hams who are running anything.
> Do you venture out on the bands and work everybody?
Occasionally yes
> How do you handle the exact-on-my frequency folks?
I'm on my frequency whatever my frequency is.
> Do you think most hams know what the RIT control is for?
I have no idea.
> When your Drake/Collins/Heath/Swan/Galaxy SSB station is tuned to a freq such as 21.2754 and someone tells you that you're off freq, what do you say? (The expect you to be on 21.375 or .376 even)
I don't operate slopbucket anymore.
> Do you keep your vintage for vintage nets and events, but use modern for everything else?
I have relatively modern gear and occasionally run a 25 year old ten
tec rig on CW and a Yaesu rig on 160 m. phone driving a hacked up
leenyar. Apart from that everything is with vintage tube gear.
> Do you think the future of hamming is turning the HF bands into a version of WIFI?
It seems like it but I don't know.
> Have you heard 6 meters open to everywhere by the beacons heard, but no CW, SSB, FM simplex, AM operation could be raised up, but the FT8 crowed was wall to wall up around their 50.3 freq?
I've never operated 6 meters.
> Do you find that the conversations you have with operators who are all about the latest whizz bang gear, interesting?
Nope.
> Have you run across hams who think the vintage gear you are using is illegal now or should be banned?
Have not had that one happen to me.
> Have you made any CW contacts between 21.1 and 21.2 since the end of the Novice License?
No.
