Thanks to the fellows who gave me input on the A54.  It ended up working pretty well.  The VFO was found to be spot on, didn't have to touch a thing. It does have a parasitic choke in the plate lead, just not the familiar coil on resistor style.  Running it on an Elmac 1070 PS, used the 250 volt line to run the low stages, and the hi B+ for the modulator plates and PA, with the internal PS regulator disconnected.  It is putting out about 38 watts at 525 volts with the plate meter at the tic mark and modulation is very good, even with a carbon mic, but I think the owner may rewire the mic amp as shown in the schematic for a crystal mic.  The meter on it is very nice, sort of art deco.  I had a Babcock MT5 that had the same style meter on it, and it was the best looking part of the radio.  The fellow that brought the rig to me for repair seems happy, and it is out of my shop, so, goody.  Onward and upward with the rest of the stuff I have to fix.
