Like yourself, I am an admirer of the Simpson 260.  I have my original 260 that my older brother and I acquired around 1950, still working well, and another that I picked up at a hamfest recently that is so old it has a flat, Bakelite panel with the meter switch scale silk screened on in faded yellow paint, also operational.  I recently picked up a 260, series 3 that looks good cosmetically but does not work on any scale.  I just tested the meter movement, and it is working OK - measured 30 microamps when I put it in series with a 1 megohms resistor across a 30 volt power supply.  I would be happy to donate the entire 260 to you for the cost of shipping if you are interested.
