In the US anyhow...here's a neat pic posted on Twitter:

There's a pair of Maggie PT-63's in the rack along with a Hallicrafters 
SX-62, Gray transcription tables and arms, an RCA 88-A pressure-type 
mic, and an RCA BC-2B console.   The receiver came out in 1948 and the 
console in 1952 so I'm guessing the photo dates from the mid-50s.

A neat set-up, but oddly there's no indication of the station call 
letters, at least from the angle this was taken.   But very likely an AM 
station.
