This sort of thing is pretty easy to set up with modern audio gear and
a modern AM rig. The problem is that the hams who really need it are
the guys running ham tube gear. It's kind of tricky getting a
balanced low Z box like this to work with a D104, tube preamp, etc.
And if you can pull that off, the rig may have to be beefed up to
handle the processing. A lot of guys don't want to go through all
that with their Globe King or Viking 500 etc.
