I say make AM contacts any way that you have to!
It's not necessarily that Jay;s idea would be to get people motivated. In some cases it could
be helpful to find someone, instead of having to call CQ for hours on end then give up.
Again YMMV, and each to his own. You don't like the internet, then don't use it.
