Like someone else wrote, the oddly interesting thing about operating
all these data modes like CW, RTTY, slow scan TV, and PSK31 with a
computer, is that they all sort of blend together and seem indistinct.
Oh, I guess with CW and PSK31 you are typing and sending in real time
and with TV you have an image to look at, but the computer interface
to my way of thinking, has a way of making all of this little
different from sending and receiving data on the internet. I don't
get the attraction.
I made all of four contacts in the CW CX yesterday but I wasn't in it
to compete; I was in it to simply operate the T50 and have a few QSOs.
I got a couple of compliments on the sound and stability of the
rig--here I did all this work to make it all seem no different from a
modern rig--I guess I need to by pass the buffer tube in the VFO so I
have some chirp hi hi.
