Well Geoff, I've got the room, but just too many trees on each end of the
open yard area. 500 feet would put a lot of the ends into the woods, and
I'm actually afraid of starting a fire. I burned some 14 ga wire in half
one day some time ago where it was laying over a branch or large twig. I
think it was wet that day, so luckily nothing happened except I had to
repair the wire. Ever since then, I've been afraid to run the legs into
the woods. It's a shame since my property, lengthwise extends almost 1/4
mile east and west on this ridge. I do want to eventually run a long
beverage as far as I can through the woods, of course it will be for rx
only.

Oh someone asked me how high I plan to get the new antenna. Well about as
I high as I can get it is around 60 feet. I'll have the center up on my
repeater tower which is right at 60', and the ends will be suspended by
trees on each end slightly less than 60'. It will be somewhat "NVIS" like
that, at least on 80 and 160...
