Or take Charlie/K3YA who picked up that basket case 30K-4 a year or so back
and posted pictures of the gutted carcass on 'fone. It came out of a
dumpster down here in NC and his friend gave the remains to him. Was
talking with him on 80m one night a week or so after he posted the photos
and asked how it was coming, mentioned that he had a loooong road ahead of
him and so on. He replied that yes, it still needed a lot of work, but 'how
does it sound?'. There were enough parts left that he got it working and
had it on the air - and it sounded great! I'm still amazed by that, it was
such a torn up wreck.
