Yep, sounds familiar Don.   The same Hammy who tells us he's 
reconditioned his gear by "bringing it up on a variac" and that the rig 
at the hamfest "worked the last time I used it".   Ignorance and 
laziness are never a good combination!

I see a Drake 1A receiver in the front row - put it up for sale on one 
of the online lists for $500 and they'd probably have two buyers from 
the two guys who aren't going to get the ones on eBay right now.   Same 
with most of the other antique and vintage tubes and gear that is of 
value.    Then look for an eager local beaver who will come and haul off 
the flotsam that's left in return for a modest payment and the 
opportunity to sift through it at leisure.
