If you don't find a Johnson Meter, consider doing a meter movement transplant. The Viking I manual lists the meter as a 5 ma movement, 20 ohms resistance. That's also consistent with the listed values for the shunt resistors. The manufacturer of the meter is probably listed on the meter case or on the calibration card somewhere, and you can measure the diameter of the meter case. Go on ebay or some other place and look for a 5 ma meter by the same manufacturer and with the same case size. When you get it, swap the movement from that meter into the case from the Viking meter and put the Viking meter card onto the "new" movement.
I've done this a lot to repair meters and it works every time.
