Additionally, the maximum transmitted bandwidth on AM is 4.8 KHz. The 570
also has an equalizer to tailor your transmitted audio on AM. It think
it's in MENU 14. Power output on AM is adjustable from 5 to 25 watts
which is good if you want to tickle a linear.

The low level AM modulator works well. Use a decent quality mike. Hand
mike sucks for AM. If you feel you need audio compression, set for no
more then 5 db. 10 db is default. See page 22 of operating manual for
additional info.
