I haven't used that specific radio on AM.
I have used the TS-930SAT on AM.
The *best* results are to set the carrier at about 20W. Feed this into
an external amp *if* available.
The REAL trick is setting the Audio. Don't overdue it! If you do it
sounds horrible!
A station monitor, or an external receiver with use of the RF Gain to
listen to yourself is another method.
Following this approach, you can achieve a VERY pleasing signal. It
*does* require careful settings and patience!
I've succeeded in this, so can you.
Take some time, and a lot of patience. Monitor your own signal however
you can.
You WILL be pleased and surprised with the end result.
