You mentioned Ed Bolton, WA3PUN in your post. I live about 10 miles from
him although I never spoke to him or met him in person. His house and
dipole antenna can be seen right next to Interstate 83 at the Jonestown Road
(Colonial Park) exit. If I am correct in my memory and assumptions he
presented a show of some sort at the Antique Wireless Association Conference
in Rochester NY several years back. I missed that event by if I remember
correctly there were a number of comments afterwards about some adult
content in his presentation. Sounded like a character that I would enjoy
meeting.

"There are a few of us around who might
be classified as AM purists; a couple of others I can immediately think of
are Ed Bolton, WA3PUN and (recently SK) Ashtabula Bill, W8VYZ. As far as I
know, neither of those guys was ever heard operating SSB. There are bound to
be a few more still around and on the air."
