I've had good success on 40 in the evening. The station on 7.290 (RCI?)
leaves the frequency sometime around 8-9 pm and there's been a group on
there fairly often from 8 land and other areas. I joined them a couple
weeks back. 7.220 is another spot that has been open a lot, have worked
Steve/K4HX there a few times.

Between the summer static and my reduced schedule due to the new harmonic,
I'm pretty much restricted to 40m for a while. And the storms last week
took down my dipole in grand style, so that needs repairs.

Man, isn't that the simple truth! I give you high marks for being on there
for more years than I can remember, Don. You tend to be on much later at
night when many other stations have hit the hay, but it's good to know
there are a few stations to be found at that time of the night. Doug/VE4BX
was another anchor heard often in the evening/late night hours. His signal
is greatly missed.

The frustrating part to me is hearing the reports of 'I listened but...'.
If only half of these folks would just find a spot, throw out a few CQs, it
would be an amazing transformation.
