The problem I see with AM is the use seems very localized. The PNW AM group
has fades away. The SoCal AM group does not make it the PNW.
Is there AM activity in your area? Get some of the people to listen to it.
I listened to our local VFH SSB group on the recent contest day. It was a
PITA because hey did not talk long enough to allow me to fine tune them. I
had the same problem on their two weekly nets.
With AM you just don't have that problem. AM is the way god intended HF
phone to be.
Are the HF bands where you live really that crowed that AM is a problem? Or
a it just SSB people making intentional problems?
