[AMRadio] AM Presentation

Bernie I am not sure it is strange.  In a lot of clubs most of the members 
are VHF aficionados or exclusively use SSB.  The resurgence of AM was in the 
early 90s and it has waned as you can tell from posts to various reflectors 
or boards.

The reason I say some of this is the lack of knowledge about what makes an 
AM signal.  Most people really don't know that SSB is AM on one sideband 
without a carrier and I would almost bet that if you asked a lot of hams 
what the letters FM mean, they can't tell you.

I would bet a lot of the present hams have never listened to the AM BC band 
and especially SW BC on AM.  I feel it has become a niche part of the hobby 
where guys like you and I muse about things of mutual interest.  Thank 
goodness for guys like you.
