A misleading albeit exciting number.

6kw of carrier power implies 1500W of equivalent talk power in each 
sideband.
If you're going to double your receiver bandwidth to capture both 
sidebands then you have to fill it in with power there as well to retain 
S/N.

Only sideband power has any "talk power" value.
