I remember when I was younger, maybe in high school, one day my mom
held up a new silver plated spoon she was admiring and looked at me
and said, "You aren't old enough to appreciate this but eventually you
will be.  Things like this are what old people like."  She was right.
I am not particularly interested in spoons, but I appreciate
craftsmanship like what is found in older gear.  I love my TO Keyer,
partly because I sweated over getting it to work right for a few
weekends and now I like it better than my solid state keyer and almost
as much as my bugs.  I have little interest in anything I can't figure
out or work on, so to me, that is the selling point with old gear for
young people, but they may have to reach a certain age to understand.
