Not totally off-topic, Don, since ICW is just a special case of AM, of 
course. I found reading your trials and tribulations interesting; I can 
definitely relate! Sure is more fun to troubleshoot and repair 
vacuum-tube stuff, IMHO.

I do a bit of CW in the fall and winter months, mostly in the AWA Bruce 
Kelley 1929 QSO Party, but when I do I'm always on a straight key. I 
have a Vibroplex iambic paddle I had bought new when they were located 
in Portland Maine (local to me), hooked up to a homebrew accu-keyer, and 
also have a few bugs in the collection. I can send OK with them, but 
they just aren't as "comfortable" as a straight key to me, because of 
all the time I logged on one as a Johnny Novice.
