[AMRadio] Cheap and Not So Cheap AM BC Stations

Nashville has an NPR station on 1430. They run 10 kw daytime and drop to 1
kw night. I can get them pretty well here during the day if there are no
nearby thunderstorms or line noise, but at night the signal vanishes in the
QRM, starting about 30 minutes before they cut power. At night-time power,
they barely make it to the Nashville city limits.
Back in the 60s I used to listen to WILL from time to time. They put a
pretty good daytime signal into here during the winter months. I probably
wouldn't be able to hear them at all now, because there are probably a half
dozen other stations on the same channel within the same radius of their
distance away, plus the higher noise floor from all the electrical crap
polluting the band.
