AM is not "special mode" it's just Another way of transmitting a signal to the ether. Nothing more nor nothing less. Leave us alone & we will leave you alone. Lots of kcs out there. I work AM, CW and SSB but I don't hold one above the other. It's all hamming. 73 es hve fun with our great hobby. 73, Bob K9ING

Digital sites RTTY, etc etc. I would wager that a deep search could find 100 sites addressing some portion of Amateur Radio operation. The other aspect of this is there is no such thing as CW, it is on and off thus AM, SSB is also AM, only a few use F.M. I have never heard it any where. The same thing with the stupid magazine, it is almost completely advertisements with tech articles on how to unscrew a light bulb!!! Go back and look at the 1950s magizenes, there were articles on , gasp, building transmitters and receivers!! Now it is where one can buy a dipole antenna, that likely will not be resonate or impenednce matched when installed. Or a verticle antenna that needs no ground system. Heres a great idea, just use a light bulb for an antenna, easy to monitor output and the receiver noise will be way down, plus almost no risk of lightening strike damage.
