MFJ 984 Versa Tuner IV Antenna Tuner:

MFJ says this will handle 3000 Watts PEP. Since the legal
limit is half of that, you will be fine at legal power.

It covers 1.8 to 30 MHz with 250 pf 6kv caps and matches
anything you want to throw at it, or so it seems.
It also includes an RF ammeter at the output of the tuner
so you know how much actual RF current you are putting
into the antenna. There's a wattmeter/swr bridge built
in along with a small dummy load.

It has rugged heavy-duty construction. Switches are rated
for 2KV and 17 amp carry capacity. There's a 4:1 balun
and real ceramic feed through insulators.

This particular unit works fine. The case looks very nice.
There is slight wear on the front panel, and one small
scratch that you can see if the light is just right.

Paper work is included for $200.


MFJ 962 B, 1500 Watt Antenna Tuner:

This HF antenna tuner is rated for 1500 Watts from 160
thru 10 meters. It features a cross needle wattmeter
that will read forward and reverse power, and SWR
simultaneously. Full scale readings are 2000/200 watts
forward, and 500/50 watts reverse. An antenna switch
is built in, as is a balun. The meter has a back light
that may be turned on or off. You need 12 V DC to
power the light.

This tuner works fine, the meter works fine, and it
lights properly. The cosmetics are good. The case
looks great. The front panel shows some wear.
Wear, but not scratches.

With paper work for $160.


Yaesu FC-757 AT, Automatic HF Antenna Tuner:

The Yaesu FC-757 AT is a automatic antenna tuner designed
to be used on 160 thru 10 meters, including the WARC bands.
It is designed to work with the FT-757GX, FT-757GXII and
FT-747GX transceivers, but can work with virtually any HF rig.

The frequency range of this tuner is: 1.8-2, 3.5-4, 7-7.5,
10-10.5, 14-14.5, 18-18.5, 21-21.5, 24.5-25 and 28-29.9 MHz.
The maximum RF power is 150 watts. The built in wattmeter
has ranges of 15 and 150 watts. There is a 4-bit microprocessor
which allows for fast, accurate automatic tuning. Two SO-239
connectors are provided, and it includes a built-in dummy
load. It requires 13 V DC at 300 ma.

This unit works fine. Cosmetically it is not perfect;
it shows some use, but it is not bad.

Joymatch "Lo-z 500" Antenna Tuner:

This antenna tuner is manufactured by Partridge Electronics
Ltd in England. It appears to be an "L" network with a 12
tap inductor and a single tuning capacitor. Apparently back
in the 1960's or 70's Partridge made an antenna they called
the Joystick. This is an antenna tuner that could be used
with it, but of course it can be used with other antennas
as well. It would appear to work on 80 thru 10 meters
(including WARC bands). L networks only match impedances
one direction, i.e. only lower than 50 ohms, or only higher
than 50 ohms. You can change the direction of match by
swapping the coax cables between the two SO-239 connectors.

I don't think the 500 means 500 watts. It looks more like
it would handle 100 watts.

This tuner works fine and looks great. $50
