I forgot one other mod I made that I thought was pretty clever. Like 
most clever things, it didn't originate with me, but instead through 
Jim, W5JO. I saw it on his 300A Champ and asked what it was, as I'd 
never seen or heard of such before. It's a 1/16" spark gap across the 
modulator secondary, just in case I (or someone else in the future) 
does something really stoopud. This limits the maximum voltage that 
can appear across the secondary and might, just *might,* save the 
transformer and so a potentially very ex$pen$ive replacement.
