[AMRadio] SX-28A AVC Knob

I am just wondering if anyone knows WHY hallicrafters used that one
odd-ball metal knob on the AVC control, and all the rest were the regular
skirted knobs?  Today, I just happened to find the original metal knob in
my stuff from one I had many years ago to put on the one I restored
recently.  I'm glad I did, however it sure made me wonder why they used
that one oddball...
