Lee,
You have been allowed to express your opinion along with others who posted and sent direct messages to Brian, Todd and myself. The decision supported by the majority of the responses was to allow posts by those who sell parts and equipment but not eBay announcements.
The majority felt the sellers were selling antique or classic parts to support equipment used by the members of the group so they are appropriate. Brian/W5AMI is the owner of this group and he made the decision with that input and after discussion by the two of us who moderate the group.

So,w5ami, You make the rules and nobody else can express their opinion? Since when are you the judge on this reflector?

Do you realize if every business peddler of ham gear posted on all the lists every week, they would out number hams subscribed to lists. Frankly, I do not subscribe to any list other then sales lists for ads. As I said earlier, if a guy advertises infreaquently to buy or dispose of his personal equipment, I have no problem with those type ads. It really bugs me to see peddlers on lists I belong to constantly selling their stuff as a business. One guy, you know who I am talking about, posts up to 2 times a week. I find that offensive. That is not OK with me. (I think the guy in question posts the same add to just about every ham reflector known to man). Can you imagine what it would be like if every peddler did this? No thanks.

My God folks! How damned hard is it for you to press the dang Delete key!?
If you have a recently developed email client, you don't even have to do that. Just filter them out to your trash. I don't want to make this little transition complicated and don't expect others too either.
The person I think a few are referring to has had some deals that would have cost me 5 to 10 times that if I bought the same item from Nebraska Surplus. I keep my eye out for things like that on the lists, and I happen to appreciate it. Simply put; some of us have more stuff to sell than others, and I'm glad they are there to give us a heads up on what they have to offer at such bargain prices.
I really don't want to hear anymore about the very few folks we have here that give us an option to get some (often times hard to find) pretty good deals of things a lot of us need. If I had a stock of hard to find stuff at a bargain, I would give the members a chance at it too, but I wouldn't give it away like some people expect.
Enough of this "peddler" talk. We have other things to resolve first.
