FWIW now days, tubes like the 4CX15000's and 4CX20000's are shipped in a foam rubber / plastic "cocoon" which has a cavity that exactly fits the tube's outside dimensions and this cocoon exactly fits into the shipping box. The cocoon is split horizontally. You open the top of he box, pull out the top piece of the cocoon than pull the tube out.

The Big EIMAC TUBEs ONCE HAD THE BIG SPRING SUSPENTION DEVICE IN A LARGE
BOX, BUT STILL I WONDER HOW THOSE WERE SHIPPED AROUND BACK WHEN.
Was it just an awareness thing.
