You have summed it up.

I'd be REAL QUICK *IF* you are going to do it that way.

Once you find the settings, mark them.

However, you'll find that you are fighting the tune-up procedures for the
Apache in doing it like that.

The tune-up procedure in the Apache manual NEVER intended for the Apache to
be tuned into an amplifier.  That's why it seems TOO simple.

Grid drive and all the other settings in the tune-up procedure are INTENDED
to tune for the MAX output of the Apache.  They just don't take into account
of that amplifier on the end of it.

You'll have to "Develop" your OWN tune-up procedures if you indeed feed it
into an Amplifier.

Otherwise, you and the amplifier WILL have issues.

I'd never do it like that to my 3-500Zs.  They are the original ones that
came with the LK-500ZB.  I am NOT in a hurry to replace honest to goodness
Eimacs.
