The "Tall Ships" are NOT using a linear amplifier hung off the end of 
another radio.

They are running T-368s, BC-610s, and misc. Commercial rigs - OR - they 
spent a fair amount of time and effort, not to mention $$$, to 
accumulate the necessary iron, tubes, and the whole lot to build that 
"Tall Ship"!

An Apache will only get you so much.  Trying to hang an amplifier off 
the end of it is a task that does NOT come in a pre-built box.
