[AMRadio] hamfest?

I sure agree that Belton is about the friendliest hamfest I have EVER
attended. I don't go very often, as it is a 5 hour drive one way, but I am
treated well when I do. It is also unique in that you drive your vehicle
inside and actually tailgate inside, unless that has changed!!! Less
loading and unloading of heavy items. I hope to get to go this spring for
the first time in a few years.

By contrast, Ham Comm, in years past a HUGE hamfest in Irving, TX at a
spacious facility with friendly folks has moved to Plano in a VERY crowded
facility and hired fat security guard wannabees to keep the crowd "in line"
for some unknown reason, and has made it a joke as a "friendly ham venue".
The facility change was supposedly due to hams screaming about the parking
fees at the former one. Any real hamfesting going on there is definitely in
the parking lot, and that is an equally small area. I'll not waste my
time/money going there again just to be pushed around and then not find any
"real gear" for sale.

Are there any good "heavy metal" hamfests within reasonable driving distance
of Southwestern Oklahoma/North Texas other than Belton??
