computer hard garbage, new tool sets made in PRC from cheese rind, the same R390A for $1k (on its tenth visit now), CB boxes, Yep, pretty well describes the Wyong hamfest touted as VK's largest. Except we'd call them 150+ kg'ers.

Yep, Bernie I'm afraid it is. I would be willing to bet that there are some exceptions out there but I've seen most of the good ones in this area 'morph' into what you just described.
