[AMRadio] 10M AM Frequencies

Hi Guys,

For my money, the absolute BEST value in a vintage tube-type receiver is the venerable Heathkit SB-301...

Those rigs are incredibly sensitive, easy as pie to work on, have 1-KHz dial resolution, and are CHEAP in to-day's market...

Their only drawback with this rig is the LACK of an AM filter! You can buy one on eBay (if you'e willing to pay the price!), or roll your own, as I did here...

My second choice is the Drake R-4 series of receivers. Again, very sensitive, easy to work on, 1-KHz dial resolution, coverage of at least the first 15-KHz of the 10-meter AM window without added crystals, AND they play well in the AM mode, "...right outta the box!" The early models go for a tad more than the Heathkit receivers, though...the "C" series for considerabley more.
