Steve,

I have a restored (not by me) Viking 1 as well but don't get home from work until after 5 PM Eastern time.  Would love to make a contact on the air with another Viking 1.  See my shack picture on QRZ for my boat anchor station.

After a couple of weeks restoring it, finally have an old Johnson Viking I
back on the air again. Had always wanted one of these (or a desk KW....).
It had been a kit so had to deal with the usual assortment of bad solder
joints, along replacing quite a few parts.

The only issue is some (not bad based on reports so far) hum, which seems
to be coming from the mic or mic cord. Yes, its the dreaded D-104 with
a good xtal element.

I'll be on approx 7293 KC at 1 PM PST the next couple of days (at least)
if anyone wants to chat. Located in CA, 50 miles north of the Golden Gate.
