Assuming they are both stock, I doubt you'll see any audio difference
Max. The main difference is that the V-3 was "TVI-Proofed" by removing
the opening top lid and changing the slotted side openings to small,
round holes. It's been a while since I was inside a -3, but IIRC, they
also changed the multiple, round filter caps to a single, sealed unit.
Perhaps a couple other updates I'm missing.
With a crystal D-104, they sound pretty good right out of the box. You
can change the grid input resistor on the mic amp (1M I think) for
something around 5M to improve low frequency response with that mic.
V-2s tend to bring less money than the V-3, and they include the
convenience of a top lid to allow tube swaps and other testing without
having to drag it out of its cabinet.
