Hi Bob,
Back in 1980, we'd just gotten married, moved into our new home, & naturally money was tight! All of my antennas were made up of whatever it was that I managed to dream up, & raise into the tall silver poplars that graced the width of our back yard...
In those days, my "...projectile of choice" was a Canadian beer bottle: they were the old-fashioned brown stubby kind, easy to grip, a cinch to tie a line around the neck & toss over a tree branch...
Well, as fate would have it, one of my tosses got tangled---and yup, it was just above arm's reach, & directly in view of anyone sitting in our family room, gazing out the sliding door window!
That empty beer bottle swung & swayed there with each passing breeze for about a year's time, before Mother Nature finally released it from her grip...after awhile even visitors stopped asking. "Oh, it's just that Eddy again, playing around with his Ham radio..."
