[AMRadio] "Real" AM'er

When even someone I respect greatly, both from his contributions here and
from ER magazine, K4KYV, feels the need to respond to the indirect results
of one of my bad posts, I have to make one more comment before returning to
lurking. First, I DO NOT have a "thin skin", I just know when to not post
to a group UNLESS I either need actual help related to the hobby, OR can
offer a valid answer to a poster in need.

I very much enjoy the hobby, both on the air and in my reviving efforts (I
am NOT in the restoration class and recognize that). I am learning to enjoy
only certain aspects of all but a very few internet lists, and do not post
to most. AM is a very new mode to me, as I entered the hobby in 1972 and my
elmers of the time encouraged other modes, so I have a lot to learn. I can
already tell which authors to save posts from, and those to delete on
receipt without really reading. I am afraid in this group I would likely
email those folks directly, not ask questions knowing they would probably be
misinterpreted in this atmosphere.

Hamming is NOT new to me and I have been involved in many aspects that would
probably be frowned upon by some in this group. THAT was the point of my
bad post, the "Real" was in quotes on purpose, but that point was totally
missed by the landslide of unrelated posts. The point was that there
probably isn't such an animal to be found.

See you on the air, and I never miss an opportunity to help a fellow ham if
I have what he needs and can provide it.
73,
Don, WB5HAK
