I have had output power drop when the drive and grid current fell off while the transmitter was in the transmit mode for very  period of time.

I have also had issues when the screen voltages began varying. I would check the screen voltage to see if it is staying stable.
 
One issue that gave me trouble with the finals "taking off" meaning changing power (not meaning generating harmonics or going into oscillation) was changes in bias and/or screen voltage When those elements change you can assure your self that the finals are going to change.

I fought those problems with two 6146 tubes in a Hallicrafters HT 32 B for a period of time. 73, John, K5PGW
