Take a look on Phil Salas' website (don't have the URL in my head, but 
Google his callsign and you'll find it).  Scroll down his "articles" to "A 
T/R Switch for your Boat Anchor Station".  This has probably been around for 
years, but is a neat way to do just what you want. The relay you have will 
do that in a very neat way that Phil used in his description of building a 
switch box like this.  You will have an "ah ha" moment like I did.  It's 
simple, but elegant at the same time and effectively grounds the receiver 
input.
