[AMRadio] WTB: Coax relay, 110VAC, aux contacts

Hey Don....
I still have the same Dow-Key relay that I bought in 60' before I made my
first contact!
It's the AC powered coil and occasionally it will buzz a little. This is
probably because the thing is really a solenoid.
To get around all the aforementioned safety concerns and to keep it
quiet....I put the thing in a shoebox packed with foam rubber.
I can't hear it anymore.
I got on to this in the late 60's when I had an HT-32B tx and SX-101A. With
VOX operation the relay was driving me nutz so I did what I did.
I'm using it on the AM rig now.
Try it.

Bud,
What part of the Dow Key relay do you find to be "noisy and intermittent",
the antenna switching portion of the relay or the auxiliary contacts?? I am

getting ready to power up and use my Viking II with some receiver, and have
a Dow Key relay, but could build the same thing in a metal box to eliminate
the dangers mentioned easily too.
Thanks,
Don, WB5HAK
