Why doesn't everyone stop whining about passing or not taking the code test. If you want bragging rights, learn the code and then pass an ARRL Code Proficienyt test. If you already know the code, just take the CP test. You get a nice certificate to hang on your wall and you can get an endorsement for most reasonable speeds.  After all, your Extra Class ticket, certifies one of four things in addition to passing the written exam:  You got your license after the code requirement was dropped; you got your license by passing a 5 WPM tes;, you got your license by passing a 20 WPM test or you were grandfathered from an earlier code test. I can't seem to find a place on my Extra Class license that states what I did to pass it.

After all......anyone who has an Advanced class today has already passed
far
more difficult testing and demonstrated dedication and proficiency for
decades.
Apparently there are not too many of us left for whatever reason.
Most if not all General class amateurs from 68' on back are still pissed
off
at that (*^&^$^%*&^# ARRL and FCC for rolling back considerable privileges
to I think what they are today. That was a significant loss and it really
hurt.

xactly why I have no intention of upgrading to Extra "Lite"!.
Should be two classes of Extra:
xtra Lite = 0 or 5 wpm Extra
xtra Heavy = 20 wpm Extra
