Okay, CW is AM carrier with no modulation.

So what does that have to do with the price of rice in China?

Even as a Novice I understood A-1 vs A-3.

This seems to get dumber as this thread continues.

I'm just going to study, find a place to take the exam, and be done with it.

It isn't like it is going to do anything EXCEPT expand the band area I 
can operate.

You STILL can't run Am ON 3550!  I did NOT have to be an Extra to know that!
