I feel your pain! We were just upwind of the blowout. The folks next
to us had to relocate as the tide came in!

You forgot to mention the "scooter" drag races! They were everywhere! I
am sure a lot were valid, but I saw a bunch of folks that drove up and
dismounted to look around and kick tires, before getting back on to roar
to the next table! The scooter rental guy must have done well.

Life goes on!

Got back from Dayton Sunday. Was a nice hamfest at least WX wise. The
'Great Sewer Explosion of 2011" is one for the books though. That and
the lack of good AC in the arena area would be enough to make me
relocate next year. The other 5 fellows I was with, Carl W4RCW, Ron
WB4OQL, Ken W4HKZ, George W4BUW and Bill N4TIC, all said they thought
the flea market prices were pretty good for a change. Thought R&L
electronics was a little remiss in that, considering this is somewhat of
an international event also, they had no one that had even a rudimentary
knowledge of Spanish, and there was a Brazilian fellow trying to buy the
whole enchilada, but nobody could understand him.

I think there ought to be 3 hamfests though. The Friday hamfest is for
all the people who walk around and talk to the person they are with
about how they had one of those, pointing to the thing on your table,
and then tell them what a piece of junk it is. Then walk off in
conversation with no comment to you. Saturday should be reserved for
the folks that look at your stuff, tell you what a piece of junk it is,
and tell you how they fixed it. One fellow gave me a ration about not
having a connector for an old car radio, and how you would not be able
to find one anywhere. I told he he was a ham, solder some wires to it
and use it, besides, why do you think it is only marked at $10. Sunday
should be for buyers.
