OK Jim, will do this evening when I get home. My Dad certainly added the fan on
his own many years ago -- I remember him doing it. I think the receptacle has
been there since the beginning, though: he had no Greenlee punches to make such
an opening and it is clearly punched as is the one below it for the rx muting
line connector. It would be *very* tight to get a punch in there with all the
other components in place.

Can you take a picture of the connector and send to me? I am not sure
what kind of connector you are talking about but may recognize it Send
it direct to the email address in the header of this message.
That is probably something your dad did to help with cooling. The
factory 350 did not have anything like that on the back. It really
isn't needed for operation if you keep in mind the design specs for it
is about 10 mins on and 20 mins. off. Adding a fan will extend the
transmit time and help shorten the receive time.
