[AMRadio] AM power

I once got an OO report for having a 'carrier' on my signal. I looked the
fellow up in the old call book, (do we remember them?), and told him that I
was running AM. He said, "That's illegal." I politely pointed out that he
was wrong and that he should hand in his OO 'badge' at which point I hung
up, with a slight giggle!

I got an OO card once. Here in Houston. Was on 2m making fun of some
of the entry level hams on another frequency and said, in a fictitiously
sarcastic manner "10-4".
Long and short of it was, the guy who's call sign appeared on the OO
card -wasn't- an OO. I called my Section Manager (also my friend) and
explained it all to him, and he said "we don't have that call sign in
our database." Called the guy at home to find out why he sent the card
- guy was understandably upset that someone had used his call sign in
such a manner.
OO notifications aren't worth the .03c postcard they're written on.
