This worked for me a few years back running a KW-1. Hadn't gotten
around to getting into the crawl space to run a 240v line in the radio
room, so I'd wheel it out to the kitchen after sliding the electric
range out of the way, plug it in with the receiver sitting atop the
range, and play radio. It was dubbed the Kitchen Kilowatt. And yes - I
was single at the time.

My understanding of most of these rigs is that 250w is somewhat
conservative, for 24/7 use. In amateur use with some tweaking I've
heard reports in the 275-300w range.

The harder part to reconcile is the weight to power ratio. The 300G is
a 250 watter weighing in at nearly 1400 lbs! RA-250 is in the same
category. They sure are purty, though. (o:
