This is typical of those that have NOT actually run or used the BC-610s.

It indeed is a military version of the HT-4.

I find the need to keep the power level(s) down to remain *LEGAL*.

If I let it all hang out, I'll definitely get a pink ticket, or the FCC 
will climb all over me.

When you see it pin a peak reading Bird at 2500W out, you make adjustments.

I get all up and down the East Coast, beyond PA, and where I have an 
antenna laid out for.

This is always a 'Topic' where nits get picked.
