[AMRadio] Source Broadcast Xmtrs

I've been reading this thread for a few days now, and my only comment so
far is that we hams don't need to be defending ourselves for wanting to
resurrect old AM BC rigs as long as we are respectful with them, don't
intend to QRM. Every example of BC transmitters that I have heard up on
HF ham bands have had very clean operations. This is not always the case
with HF radios, especially with external power amplifiers.
The Power Pebble Continental 314R1/Collins 828C1 has a single 3-500Z PDM
switch tube and a pair of them for RF. Only the switch tube driver is
solid state. I know of at least 3 other hams now who have these and
several are in converted operation on the top band now. One tricky part
is the solid state RF driver. My only problem is that I design high
power RF amplifiers for a living, so I lost spunk for ham radio
conversions. So they sit in my garage waiting for the day.
